just got my car back from the shop and the speedometer is messed up. when im stopped it says i am at 20km/h and i am always 20 more than i should be. when i turn the car off it still stays in that position. How can i make it fall back to zero? first when i got it back it was about 30 over what it should be but it has slowly fallen, but it doesn't look like it is going to go back any more.

 

what did you have your car in the shop for?

and try disconnecting the battery for a few mins. worth a try.

 

i had the steering knuckle and rack and pinion replaced so i dont know how that could have affected it. i will disconnect the battery if theres nothing else to do. i dont really want to reset all my stereo settings lol.

 

have you called the shop and told them? hahah

 

bet ya anything when they did that, they messed up the speed sensor, take it back and get them to fix it. don't even worry about doing it yourself as you shouldn't have to.

 

it went back on its own. i dont know what they did but its normal now. thanks guys!

 

I'd keep an eye on it. It might come back - though with a problem like that at least it's not reading slower and getting you tickets.
