Spontaneous combustion...

So yesterday around noon I drove to the store to grab food drinks etc. I got home around 1pm, parked in my driveway, shut off the car, went inside and went take a nap (I've been sick) Around 430 I was woken up by my neighbors screaming thru the front door that 'your car is on fire!!!!!' I run outside and sure enough...I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking....

FML....

Yeah, I have HIDs, but I've had them for years, why would they do this just now? I dunno what to think yet, like I said, I've been sick and kinda heavily medicated so I haven't completely wrapped my head around this...

You can see his ballast on the ground. I would suspect te hids to be the cause, but it's hard to tell

What I'm really lucky about is that my neighbors caught it in time...When I got out there that whole back part of the engine bay (where the 'enjoy the ride decal is) Was all in flames, plus my garage door was starting to melt and if that went on for much longer my entire house woulda gone up in flames....

that's just crazy, i've never heard of insurance not covering a vehicle because there was aftermarket parts on it... and i'm with Masta on that too, even if it was electrical with the headlights there was no power running to them unless there was something faulty relay or ballast wise, idk

Probably a fault in the relay or maybe the ballast went bad grounding itself making the wires overheat and poof, there goes the ballast and ignite the fire.
