I was gonna print off all the pages of updates for each section and take it into my dealer and see if they could do it

OK guys. All I know is that my mechanic told me to go to this site, enter my VIN, print out the updates and he would flash them for me. Yes the site does say Calibration hystory but it does not mean they have been flashed. It is just showing you that there are new calibrations sinse your car was manufactured. All I wanted to do was let the members know about this site so they could check it and if you want to try and get the dealer or some other GM certified shop that has Tech II to update you then go for it.

It is totally up to you to decide what you want to do. Print the info out, go talk to your dealer or who ever. If the dealer wont do it then find someone who will.

I just came from the dealership with a printout and they said that they usually don't do anything unless something is wrong or a customer complains about a possible issue, then they will check and see if any updates deal with that particular issue.

Well. I would find a private mechanic who is certified an ask them to do it.

The last time i used the tis2web service was to make sure my car got the right calibration when i got stage 2 . I really don't think it shows anything about new updates . When you see a NEW calibration on your Cal history , it's telling you that it has been flashed to a new calibration already.

When i checked mine yesterday , it hasn't changed at all from the print out i did last fall after i got the stage updates .

Yes it is a list of all the current updates but that does not mean that they were flashed to your car. Again I state do what you want with the information. no one is forcing any one to do anything. It is up to the individual to do what he or she wants with this info.

Basically it shows what SHOULD be in your car for a calibration, (including a Stage cal if purchased and installed correctly from dealer) NOT neccessarily what's actually IN your car.
You WILL loose any custom tuning if you get an update at the dealer, but anyone that knows how to use HPT will be able to reapply their various aspects of their tune to the newer calibration

PS> This IS a repost from a couple years back, but NO IDEA where it is...

It should not change the stage two flash. It will only up date it. Wop was talking about if you have a after market tune in your car which I stated earlier it would be in your best interest to have that tune saved to a computer before you have the up-dates done because it will/may be reflashed back to the original stage two tune at the dealership.

good luck

No, the complete history just shows the revisions that have occured since SOP (Start Of Production) Your existing calibration would likely be somewhere in that list.
and printing out the calibration numbers really isnt neccessary and just a waste of your time.

The dealer techs cannot pick and choose the calibrations they install or anything like that. In general all they can do is flash your with the most up-to-date available calibration and that is all. So they cant technically even give you the "wrong" calibration or anything. (as long as they use the correct VIN for your car that is)

Plus, once they reflash it they cant even go back to the old calibration (without contacting GM Techline, and there must be adequate justification)

Besides unless you have access to a TECH2 or some other programming tool you couldnt even confirm the correct file numbers were present aterwards anyways...

Thanks Wop. I was aware that the list of revisions was from the production date but was not aware that the techs could not pick and choose them. I appreciate you straightening us out about this. I was under the impression that a tech could pick and choose.

again thanks for chiming in. +rep

Hey guys. Can you please clarify something for me? If this website shows the complete history and you have to enter your VIN to obtain that information, you would think that it would be the complete history of what's been done to your car right?
