squeaky brakes
Has anyone else have had squeaky brakes? I just replaced my pads and rotors and 1 drivers side caliper. (I know im suppose to change both intstead of one but thats for another story i wont get into.
) and a week later the brakes are starting to squeal. anyone have any thoughts? its annoying as hell! oh and its a 06 lsj ss/sc.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
If you used ceramic pads they will squeal in alot of cases.
If metallic pads were used they are glazed up and you Need to rough them up with some coarse emery paper.
But putting some anti squeal behind the pads will help.
I find an occasional hard braking will stop the squealing and not riding the brakes!

Well i lub the back the of pads today with brake grease and its still doing it while driving. now it almost seems that the pads are touching the rotors while driving makes a loud screech then stops and when i do a slight turn then its back. and they are ceramic pads. I will pull them back off on the weekend and see. I dont ride the brakes at all. This happen when i'm heading to work on the interstate which there is no traffic. What do you recommend for anti brake squeal grease / lube?
Maybe your ebrake isn't resetting all the way.(cable to the rear calipers maybe sticking, gently tap the returning mechanism on the calipers.)
Rough up the rotors and pads if your going to take them off again with some 60 grit paper.
