Exclamation SRS Light On

Last week; Sunday I hit a tree and it didn't set any bags off or the srs unit; but just yesterday the light came on. I fooled around with things found that when my girlfriend would buckle the seat it would trip the SRS light. I checked the connections on the pretension and it seemed to stop it for a couple minutes, and then when we had to go somehwhere it set the light off again. Any one possibly have an idea of what this might be?? I havent really gotten too in depth into my searching, I haven't yet checked my belt. And another thing if this is accident related wouldnt it have gone off at the time of the accident??

1. Check the fuse box in the inside passenger wall, the airbag fuses are there
2. Take it to the dealer, the last thing you want is for your airbags to fail
