Stage 2 upgrade questions

We had stage 2 installed on one of our cars on friday, and it's running great, but we asked to have all the removed parts put in the car. They put them back in the box, (I forgot to check for the special bits though) but the Old pully has been badly bent, Should I go back and request they get me a new one? or is there no way to get it off without bending it?
Thanks

Just rent a pulley puller from ZZP or Intense, but you will have to go do a dealership for to get the pcm reprogrammed though.

Bent pulley. Man sounds like the hammered it off. I would check to see if they had a proper puller/press. if they dont you coould have supercharger problems in the future.

Broken bits? cant these techs read? 15lbs torque on the bolts. I am guesing that they may have put it on super tight.

good luck.

I did it in my garage with no air tools. but let me tell you the pulley is easy off. putting the hub on is not an easy feat. I had to get a second person and then three wrenchs while pressing the hub on.

FYI GM install = stage 2 covered under standard 3 year warranty

home install = 12 months warranty.

this is from the mouth of a GM district parts manager when i asked him to clarify the stage 2 warranty.

What is the deal with taking these pulleys off ? I pressed the shaft out in 5 sec. and pressed the new hub on in 10 sec.after supporting the shaft . I don't know what these dealers are doing. This the easiest engine upgrade in history. They say it won't void your warranty but if you had an issue with the engine related to the stage 2 components you will probably have a fight on your hands.

FYI - my dealer will cover. they know where the kit is. besides a belt or pulley wont fail. and touch would I have never had an injector fail on me. so I would do it. and on top of that I have bumper to bumper 6 year 100,000KM warranty. your source knows ****. I have met guys who told me the GM rep says no warranty on the car if GM Stage 2 is on the car. bunch of BS. there has to be proof that the car is damaged because of a modification before warranty is denied and a Stage kit is registerd to the VIN. GM can tell you which cars have the stage kit, when it was put in, and when the kit was put together for quality control. Your guy is a "Parts Manager", he didnt write the warranty. no offense but I smell **** and I think you stepped in it.

LOL dont tell me you used a hydraulic press....LOL. if you did good luck with your supercharger. you need proper press so if does not put load on the shaft to not damage internals (bearings, etc.) either way I used the proper manual press that is build for this purpose. I had the charger off the car and pulled the hub off in 30 minutes only. going on was a challenge just due to a minor hiccup with the puller/press I had. once I figured it out the new hub was on in 5 minutes and charger was back on the car in 15 minutes. change it out in under an hour and inexperienced first timer. injectors took 30 minutes. if you have a clean engine it would go faster. I took some extra time to get dirt from falling in. all in all it was a 1 and a half hours to do the job. It took the dealer longer to do the reflash cause they did not ever do it before.

BUt u would still have the potential to sell it to someone if it was still good. I would request at least 50% of what the pullie would cost new from the dealer.

BEWARE second hand stag kits !!

Beware second hand stage kits !!!! I purchased a stage 2 kit from Ebay last week from a guy in Edmonton Alb. He had it installed at the dealer and then removed it to sell. I installed it myself and went to the dealer to get the ECU flashed. The dealer called the tech line and the they told the dealer that once the code is matched to a vin number it cannot be reused ever. The VMI code for the computer is vin locked to that specific car only. I put the original injectors back in the car with the 2.8"pulley and it is running very well but that is not what I paid $550 dollars for. Lets face it , the parts cost F#$% all for these kits , GM is making a killing ripping people off. I've bought GM all my life but maybe it's time for a change.
