The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
On rare occasions, an intermittent SES light may be encountered with a DTC P0171 but NO engine performance concerns will exist.
Important: This PI only applies to vehicles that have a GM Performance Parts Stage 1 or Stage 2 Kit installed. For vehicles without a GM Performance Parts Stage 1 or Stage 2 Kit, see bulletin 06-06-04-033.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If there are no engine performance concerns, vacuum leaks, inaccurate ECM inputs, or fuel system/air filter issues present and the SI diagnostics do not isolate a cause for this concern, no repairs should be performed.
This issue is currently under investigation. Once a repair is developed, this PI will be updated with the related repair information and a Proactive message will be sent to all dealers with open TAC cases that refer to this PI.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

that is the same tsb they sent out for std cobalt ss s/c with these codes, supposedly there is a reflash that came out june for that but no word on a reflash for staged cars...
So what " problems " are people having with the stage kits? All I see on .com is a bunch of people saying not to buy it or that it has problems.
Is turning a SS/SC into a fully warrantied rocket a problem now?
