Hey has anyone ever had any problems with their auto-start not working, like you push the buttons to start and the lights just flash rather than starting????

And along with the has anyone had a problem with their factory alarm just going off at random, it happened to me last week, so i took it into the dealer and they reloaded my computer program and then it started doing it again like yesterday???

Any thoughts would be great.......

no idea for the random alarm. but as far as the auto-start not working, ( i have the option on my LT ) i would either guess you should check the batteries in the little key ring thingy..because its not your car battry if you can unlock it keylessly and start it.

 

My alarm started acting up a few days ago. It will go off for no reason every few minutes. It’s really pissing me off.

 

Do You have an update on your problem? My auto start has also stop working

 

Just had our 07 in a few weeks ago for the same issue. I guess this is common and it is either the hood switch or trunk switch. The dealership replaced the hood switch and everything worked. Good luck

Weird! Along with a vibrating problem (thread under problems/service), this is also happening. I'm dropping my car off tomorrow for service on this Remote Start issue (and the other vibrating issue). I use my remote start quite often, and now the lights flash on and off - then nothing. I tried BOTH of my remotes, so I know it's not the remote battery. I never did think to check or try to open and reclose my hood and/or trunk - as I know if these are open it won't remote start - so it makes sense there could be an obstruction or faulty wiring/sensor... I'll update when I get my car back - hopefully Wed. evening.

 

I had the same problem with my alarm going off and the remote start not working. The problem is the front hood latch, the dealer can replace it. Sucked for me because they didn't have any and I had to wait a week for them to get one in. I would lock my doors with the switch on the door instead of the remote which stopped the alarm from going off at random.

 

my alarm is doing the same thing it turned out to be a loose conector where the battery goes in the remote I just saudered it back on and no problem since

hopefully she is working properly in no time

 

what alarm? my car never came with command start. I got viper though. count the flashes and whatever kind of command start u have should have the reason in the troubleshooting part of the manual according to the number of flashes you got
