Starting
Starting
Ok, i have a 2005 cobalt 2.2 and its a 5 speed. when i go to turn the ignition over, it acts like im not even holding in the clutch. so i jsut replaced the clutch switch, still doesnt work. anyone know what htis could be?
what do you mean ?
1)The car wont start or turn over(Could be the Key security if you disconnected your battery)
or
2) the car is lurching forward when you try to start it(if its this one its a clutch problem not a switch problem)

yes the key security is on...like the light where its a lock flashing...
does anyone know what i could do to get rid of this?

Try this. It's a relearn procedure that you can do to see if your ign cylinder and BCM will relearn your key. Sometimes it works and sometimes it dont. Usually if this dont work, something might have to be replaced.
As you can see, it will take 30 minutes to do this procedure. Make sure your battery is charged up fully and dont use any accessories (like radio and stuff) If your battery goes dead during this procedure, it can ruin your BCM.
30-Minute Learn Procedure
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON, vehicle will not start.
Observe the SECURITY telltale. After approximately 10 minutes, the telltale will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.
