Yes the TSB# is TSB 05-02-32-005C intermediate shaft problem, noise only, not dangerous to drive.

they put in a new intermediate shaft in mine today. The thump isn't as bad as it was before but I still have a slight thump. Should I bring it back?

I have this same noise in mine, Installed the intershaft and still there. This same problem is also in the Malibu's with electronic steering, (ever worst, though!). GM has now released parts availability for new steering racks for the Malibu. The manufacturer of the steering gear F'ed up. In time we may have an update for ours, not sure though. The problem is, there is alittle too much back-lash in the gears of the rack, this will cause a noise, the electronic steering accents this condition, making it very noticable.

i brought my car to the dealer and took the service guy for a ride. He said the little thump in my steering wheel is normal and it's nothing to worry about....

I had same problem on my SS 2.4, my local dealer had changed two times my column the first one was working ok just for 1000 milles, after that the noise came again... the second one they said is a new column with other pert number, until now ot is workin with out any problem, they said that they have a cople of cars with same problem,

I suppose here in Mexico this problem is more frecuently early showed because our roads are completly fkd!!

i sent gm a email today about the steering thump in my car and how the dealership replaced the intermediate shaft and it's still doing it again. Now the dealership says the thump in my steering is normal and can't do anything about it. Hopefully gm will do something about it.

I have taken my car to the dealer 2 times. They say they do not know what is wrong, so when something fails bring it back and we will fix it. To make it worse they told me if I lower it they will not touch it. I just bought Sportlines.
