Steering column noises

hi everyone i dont know if this is the right section if is not sorry but i have a question about the rattle of the steering column anyone has tried to dissamble a steering column for see if the plastic gears can be change for a metal one or for other plasitc ones and get rid of the noises cause imagine changing a steering column for 300 plus labor if you dont know how handle the correct tools for the job every time

i think the problem should be a plastic ball bearing inside the motor gear asembly of the steering column for the way its sound

is it under warrenty still? all the cobalts had a steering motor recall but i know on mine they had to replace the steering shaft and a few other components that were worn out...its a 09 too.

Ive done a few on warranty. I have my name on one if warranty doesn't call it back. I plan on disassembling it to see what I can do since my sister has an 05 with the death clunk and I'm sure lots of people would be interested in a cheaper fix. I'll let everyone know when I get it and find anything out.
