Steering rack sensors & ESC message
Steering rack sensors & ESC message
So I have been having issues with the ESC active message coming on frequently along with an infrequent thump in the steering wheel when turning left. I took it to a GM garage because I read on here that the steering angle sensor needs to be re-calibrated.
When the garage called they said that the steering RACK was going to need to be replaced because the sensors inside the RACK are bad and causing the ESC message to be displayed. Note: The rack that is in the car is only about one year old and is a replacement from advanced auto parts.
Is there any sensors located in the rack? If i remember correctly there weren't any wires going to the rack. just the input shaft from the steering column. Do you think the esc could be because of the rack?
Thanks
