Steering wheel vibration

Ok guys I have an 09 SS with 89,000 miles with a steering wheel vibration I can't get to the bottom of. The wheels are not bent. They are balanced. Lug nuts are not coming loose anymore. No uneven tread wear. Any ideas?

If it shakes when braking could be rotors are warped

Rotate the tire front to rear! Just to make sure you dont have a slipped belt in your tire! I also start with the easiest thing !

Only when you step on the gas, or brakes, or doesn't matter?

Is it speed dependent?

Doesn't do it on the brakes at all. I just replaced the pads and rotors. I did rotate the tires and had them balanced didn't change anything.

What about the steering in general. Is it possible that all the vibration before I balanced the wheels and finally got my lugs to stay to tq could if caused the tie rods to loosen? Or any other part of the steering to loosen?

i have the same issue, and it started when i put sportlines on at 22,000 miles. Now on yyzv3's. Multiple wheel tire combo's and all of them do it off and on. Car drives arrow straight but steering wheel shimmies right to left above about 50 mph. Its not the brakes, or sway bar end links. Funny thing is there are times when it doesn't do it at all, and times when the faster i drive the worse it gets. Replaced cabs, end links, brakes, struts, springs, wheels, tires. Car only has 33,000 miles on her. I wondered if it was in the power steering somehow. If you figure it out let me know.

i didnt want to wait for them to poop the bed so got them replaced

there was another thread with this similar problem and someone said replacing the axles helped the steering wheel booty shake

I just fixed this issue in mine it was the intermediate shaft in the steering its the part that goes from the steering rack thru the fire wall to the steering wheel there is a plastic slider in there that wears out. It won't break but it will cause vibration and play in the steering wheel. have a look at that.

Very common problem, noticed it more on my daughters car on rough pavement, sounded like a metal lunch box with marbles in it under the hood.
