Exclamation stering wheel locking please read

just wondering if any1 has had a prob with the steering wheel locking in there 07 ss s/c the other night i was going into a turn and my wheel locked at 2 o'clock wich caused me to hit a curb leaving about 3500 worth of damage to my ss my dealer denies it being a mechinical prob this ever happen 2 any1 b4?

did you have a ding ding ding sound when it locked? sounds like power steering. if so, that is mechanical. theres a post somewhere that since our cars are electrical, there has been common problems in HHR, Cobalts, G5s, and ions with power steering ang gauges going crazy. i had power steering problems, took it to dealer and good thing i had warrenty cause ppl were paying about 1k to fix it.

also a good suggestion but idk, take it to get evaulated by someone else than GM cause GM ppl will say it was your fault and they wont look at what might really be the problem. ie.. short in fuse, power steering column, wires. probably best to get checked out by someone else then by GM and compare what each looked at and use that in your future.
