stinky smell found
for over 2 months everytime when i first get in the car and start it up i would smell something really rotten, so i finially decided to investigate and with all this talk about the cabi filter thats the first place i checked and guess what i found, "dog food" over a pound of it, long story short now my blower motor doesnt work no heat nothing, so would this be covered under warranty? im guessing not, but where could i get another motor if not?
heres some pics of all i could get out

holy ****, you have to elaborate...how the hell did a pound of dog food and a dead mouse get in there? was your car in storage and the mouse made a new home for itself feeding on dog food?? that is just bizarre...
as some of you may already know i had lost my license for 14 months so the car just sat, and i got it back about 2 months ago and it was always stinking when you would start it up so i checked the cabin filter to clean it and thats what i found
I have a friend that owns a Dodge SX 2.0 (Neon). She was getting bad gas milage, and the car would stall at stop signs... turns out a chipmonk was storing dog food in the air intake under the hood.
I work at a lube shop PT (To pay for the Cobalt) its common to see dog food or other foor in the cabin filter. Its usally mice or other rodents storing for a snowy day in the winter. Best thing to do is take apart the blower motor.
Just a a general rule of thum cabin filters should be replaced once a year or every 48,000km

I bet some Honda owner is going to see this thread and get the idea that dog food in the cabin filter gives you like 15 HP.
"It blocks airflow into the Cabin and pushes it back into the engine, where it can breathe better and the VTAK!!! can kick in."
