Sunroof broken-- and open!

Title says it all...was closing my sunroof for the night when I hear plastic cracking and BANG, sunroof stops dead in its tracks. It's tilted with the back right part hanging up the highest. Damnit, Chevy. I can move it back and forth, but it doesn't fully close. I checked the tracks for any obstructions and found a piece of broken plastic, removed that, and it still didn't shut. Bleh. This car has been flawless for two years, and for the past two months Ive had nothing but problems.. 4th visit to Chevy coming soon! As much as I enjoy this car, I'm going 1300 miles away to FL for college and I need a car that isn't going to be falling apart on me (and my car has only 22,000 miles on it!)...I shudder to think what it will be like with double, trip, or quadruple the miles...

Tomorrow I have to clean out my garage now incase it rains..and it looks like its going to on Weds...woopy.

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that these sunroofs suck. As I mentioned in a previous thread, all mine does is rattle and make a ton of noise.

Wow i've read a lot of problematic sunroof posts lately. Makes me worry about mine now. Granted everything's been flawless for the first 2600 miles (knock on wood), but anything can happen I guess.

This is a warranty item. They fixed mine with the exact same problem.

I had the same exact problem, it was the rail type slider the sunroof was on. It popped off the track. All I did as a quick fix wa use a screwdriver to mve the piece so i could close it. Until I got it fixed.

yep these sunroofs are crap..i was using mine for the 2nd time since i had the car (has less than 7k on it btw) and first it would go up everyonce in a while sometimes it wouldn't ...then it didn't tilt at all but it would fully open...basically i got everything / all components replaced and THEN they told me they needed to replace the motor for the sunroof casue its a weak motor for the weight of the sunroof
