sunroof button

this is kinda funny problem that just pisses you off so bad you cant stand it..i was lookign at my sunroof button today and it was really qruckid(spelling/sorry guys) so i tried to straighten it out and i heard "snap" all of a sudden my buttons in my head liner..now it just sits in the position really loose and jiggles when you touch it.....anyone else have this problem..i dont think my warranty covers it soooo i'm screwed.

i completely agree....i actaully haven't had a bezel around the button in a year an a half...and i take it in to the dealer a few weeks ago and ask them to put it back in and they said i would have to pay $15 to do it and that they were going to have to glue it....i was like f that i can glue it myself and save myself $15.

ya i know what you mean....Its like it is not pushed in enough on one side, i don't know if it is suppose to be like that... It sticks out more on the drivers side than it does on the passenger side, (if you know what i mean)...

if your car is under warranty still there is no reason for them not to fix it

There is a techinical service bullitin for this. The parts you need to fix it are:
22716443- bezel
15812992- retainer
Like Reign said, warrenty will cover this.

You could always glue it but it would really suck if the switch ever has to be replaced.

Mine works it's way up into the headliner with my stereo system . It's a common problem that warranty will fix. I have my retainer here beside me as I type this. I just hadn't had time to replace it myself.

I know what you mean man....I've been having lots of problems with my car and i bought it brand new. (6 months ago) and i've brought it about 7 times now.. And they can never fix the problem, either it goes away when i bring it in, are they try to tell me that everything is ok...

Canada G.M. Tech

The sunroof bezel and retainer holding the button is a warranty covered bulletin. My car did the same thing, seen tonnes of them with the same problem. Kinda a poor design, but who knows probably an easy way for GM to save money. Bulletin number is 05-08-110-006B if any Service Advisors question warranty. As far as a misfire goes as I read earlier, if we as techs can't duplicate it and there are no codes, whether they are cleared or whatnot, we can't diagnose it unfortunately.

The bezel for mine fell off an ass of times. I took it in 4 seperate times until it was fixed right. i collected each bezel that came off and sat them in my cup holder to see every time so when i had 3 sitting there I hoped they got the point. Either way, after:

The parts you need to fix it are:
22716443- bezel
15812992- retainer

it hasn't broken since.
