Sunroof Lifter broken.

Yesterday Morning, as luck would have it, the day before the bigest rain storms to hit Southern California in 15 years, I found the passenger side rear corner of my sunroof popped up about 3/4 of an inch. I had to get it fixed fast and get to work prior to the rains hitting. $75 latter a sunroof specialist had disassembled and reassembled the sun roof so that it is closed. I found out that the Right side Lifter arm had been snapped. (highly suspect that it had help but no proof.) Has anyone else had to repair the factory installed sunroof on an 06 SS coup? If you could provide the Part number or Schematic that would be great. From What I saw yesterday, there is not much to replacing the part. Just couldn't take the time to do it in the rain.

Ant.

alsp need some help on this. Dunno if we are booth looking for the same parts but my the back of the sunroof towards the rear of the car isnt secured so when a door is shut the that part of the sunroof pops up. The reason this happend is one day when i was closing the sunroof i heard somthing snap and it ended up being the 2 clips on the track that the rear of the sunroof locks into. The only part i could find was the whole sunroof track assembly which is 250 on gmparts. Does anyone know which part it is that broken. I dunno the best way i can describe it is its the peice that the two Triangle type peices that stick out from the back of the glass slide into when its closed and that peice also moves forwards and backwards depending on when u close it or open it, will try to find a pic.

I guess this describes it better, same exact issue

I'm not much help, but can at least reassure you that this is a defect and not a fluke limited to your car. A buddy of mine had his sunroof lifter snap three times under normal operation. Fixed under warranty every time, but now that his warranty has expired he just doesn't open it.

Just take the glass off the sunroof and look at it. Its only 6 screws to take it off. I fixed mine myself and didnt even have to replace anything.
