The SS Sedan is going in for its first warrenty problem, the sunroof is rattleing like a bitch! I took it in they checked and sure enough its loose. So it goes in next week for a whole new sunroof thats covered under warrenty.

anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem, got a new sunroof, now I have it again and I'm 10,000 miles out of warranty. I see a sunroof delete happening in the near future. Depends on whether or not they make the CF plugs to fit our sunroof size or not (don't know if there are standard sizes. That'd can a shitload of weight AND firm up the body a little bit (AND get rid of that damn rattle)......sounds like a win win win situation to me...

Mine used to rattle but it hasnt in a verrrrry long time.......the only reason it rattles now is when the visor is slid allll the way back and my subs are bumpin lol

 

That sucks man! I'm glad I don't have one..too many problems with it on this car for some reason.

 

Duct Tape I remember some of the tahoe's that I've worked on having adjustments, I really have not looked at mine much barely have used it at all don't know if you can't tighten it up or something.

 

Remove bolts. And lock-tight to bolts. Replace bolts. Either that or the rack is broken.

 

Mine does that also, I just slid the visor, all the way as much as it can and it stopped.

 

Yeah the dealer said there's no adjustments on the thing its either right or wrong no in between. Also when we compaired mine with another SS Sedan its sunroof was perfectly level and even where mines actualy not! So it looks like its had a problem from day one with the fit, its just since mine was the very first SS sedan with a sunroof at my dealership noone know what it should have looked like.

Now if it happens AGAIN I'll remember the locktite and other ideas. Thanks guys.

 

I had the entire glass replaced already because the outer rubber seal was folded in and left a 2 inch wide gap. You could feel air coming out of the car through it if the fans were on and it made a really loud howling noise when driven.

After 2 months it's rattling, open or closed, so it's going back.

 

I don't have rattiling (YET), but it squeaks like crazy. So far silicone spray on the rubber gasket is keeping ti in check. One will see how long it'll last. I'm figuring I'll have to lube it about every 2 weeks, more so in the winter

 

mine kinda bulges out at the back, it sits about 2 or 3 mm above the roof, is it supposed to fit perfectly flush with the roof? if so ill bring that up when i go in for my new arm rest thats going to replace the one they scrached up somehow.

 

Mine squeaks like a ****.

I can push it in the corner near the front on the driver's side and it moves up pretty good. I tried to tighten the glass at first, then lubed the tracks, but that was before I found out it was loose. I would fix it myself since I'm more than qualified.........that's what warranties are for though! lol

 

CF Plug would be awesome. I'd rock that all winter.

 

first i had my sunroof aligned...then the motor got repalced...then the glass/ track replaced..and now when it opens/ closes it gets half way and almost its like hitting a rough spot that it catches on something then goes catches on something and goes very quickly its freaken annoying so tired of the stupid thing

 

same here guys, mine rattles when the sunroof is all the way back. Very annoying. I never took mine in for that as I figure they could not do anything. Oh well

 

I get rattling but only when the visor is pulled all the way back and i have my music up loud. I just let the sunroof move the visor when i open it now..... no more rattle

 

The plastic thing that goes around the sunroof button fell off today and wont go back on, and i also noticed a tapping noise coming from my roof when the sunroof is closed but i cant tell what it is. Kinda a bad start considering ive had the car for eight days.

 

When my sunroof squeaks I only spray a little NXT Tech Protect from Meguiars on the rubber all around the glass, and the problem is fixed for 1 month at least. Depends of the temperature

Yes its to let the air vent out or the glass would pop.

The sunroof is a POS design. Plastic POS tracks, no adjustment other than lower/raise the corners and mid section a little each way. Its a POS seal also as its too small.

Chevy designers show once again they are halfway stupid is designing things. I have 2 other cars I own with sunroofs (a Dodge and Toyota) and they are well made/designed and don't leak.

C'mon Chevy, you build a cheap azz entry level commute car what do you expect half the crap on it is POS materials and design.

Sunroofs... A option that no one needs. Cars shouldn't even come with em period.

 

my sunroof dosn't rattle but when i close the door i notice the sunroof pops up a little.. but from the inside when i push on it, it has no give it's weird

 

Its suppose to pop up a little when door closes. I can push on the rear passenger side and it moves up and down at least 1/4 inch rattling and cannot be tightened down. Its a POS. Im going to double up on the molding to get it to sit tighter against the roof opening so it doesnt leak or rattle.
