Suspension issues maybe ?

I've noticed my Cobalt SS/SC is having some type of issue when I go over a bump or it's not like a creak or rattle it's kinda like something is to tight and it's making a weird noise or something along those lines wasn't sure if bushings played a roll in this or maybe it's the rear shocks are dumping out. Or do I need to just redo all the bushings on the car at all for 4 corners ? Anyone experience any kind of problems with this. And the other issue is if I turn real hard right I hear almost like a scraping noise. No clue what that could even be I've had it up in the air and everything looks tight. Thanks in advance

No idea what sound you're talking about. Is it a clicking sound?

Almost like the suspension is I wanna say to tight, it's so hard to explain not a clunk, no a click, but almost like as if you were to really over tighten the suspension on the entire car and everytime you hit a bump it's stiff like board type sound.

It's been doing it for quite some time now even when It was in the 70's. I guess more so louder at first start up and drive right now. I'm now starting to guess struts at all four may need attention

I don't think I had it that high lol. I had it listed at 13,500.00 but I haven't renewed it I had a few bites and buddy that was about to take it over but he couldn't get the finance part done. So I kept it but I just had it checked out at the dealer an hour ago and it needs shocks all four corners and bushings. They are covering it, I paid the extra 12 bucks a month for the 3 year warranty. I didn't know I paid for the bigger warranty but it was 3 years 24k miles or whatever comes first. Also passenger side wheel bearing is toast too.

Wow I officially realized that when a wheel bearing is going in these cars they immediately throw the ABS light on instantly!. But all good now, suspension done, wheel bearing done. But next week I'm taking it to my friends and lifting it up and re-doing all the bushing's and mounts. Was going to drop it some but with all the money the dealer just put in I'm not going to chance any warranty I have because that saved me a ton of money. But I am going to swap out the sway's front and rear.

They do not always turn on the ABS light for a bad bearing, it has to be really bad for that to happen.

Switching out the sway bars is a downgrade on the SS models.

****, if you found a guy to pay 13k you should have sold mine to lol.

Ok then I'll save on the sways, but the bearing wasn't that bad but it was throwing the abs light per the GM tech scanner thing they use. Also the best offer I got on the car was 12,000.00 most where 8-11k and kids whose mom and dad's wouldn't let them have it when it was said and done. It's financed and I was just trying to get out of it so I bit the bullet and just bought out of it and kept it. But the guy with the 12k offer was my buddy who couldn't get financed and his mom or dad wouldn't co-sign. And also I only have 50,000 miles on my SS

And I bought a 2009 SS/TC for 10k with 50k on it.
I am surprised because the values fell so much on them.

I'd like to get a TC model if one goes floating across the dealership I go to. I love my SC model though and kind of glad I didn't sell it. But you really don't see that many around here at all. Neither the SC or TC model's. They've either been wrecked or high miles and stripped out. You see a lot of fake SS models as well up here lol. Even one of my buddies whose old man works for a Chevy dealership bought him a SS/SC at 18 years old at the time he had it 3 weeks and wrecked it. It's a shame because in my opinion it's a sharp looking car.

Might pick up another one was just talking to a friend she's selling her's soon it's a 2007 blue SS needs some minor passenger body work and has 140k miles on it but new clutch and LSD front end. 1,400.00 cash.. I may jump on that and flip it for some extra cash. I guess these don't hold their value very well at all. Sucks because as much as people want to hate on the SS it's really a fun and nice little car. Especially the TC models.

Mine does the creeking thing, from a dead stop you notice it almost every time when you hit the gas.

I just did my sway bars for a second time and noticed on the strut, the lowest part of the coil had some wear marks on it. As if it's been moving. Only a little spot, magbe an inch long. So assuming it's worn out struts , 225k kms on it..

Mine has 50k miles on it. I'm in the process now of re-doing everything the dealership put all OEM stuff on I'm going better. As long as I keep it factory height and don't lower it, it won't void any of the extra warranty I have on the car. I'm going with Koni's and new springs and all new bushings everywhere. Trip to summit here I come Also my friend I am buying another Cobalt SS mentioned is she get's creaking from the sunroof I guess ? Which could be where my problem is coming from. My friends think I'm crazy for putting money into my SS but I love the little car. All in all yes it's a modified Cobalt. It started as a 2 door coupe they beefed up the suspension, the motor and a few other things and boom. SUPER SPORT. But I love the car it's a blast to drive and a total sleeper. The cobalt's really get zero credit but hands down these cars can hand some of the big boy's an embarrassing moment.

Very true. I know mine hates the cold period. Maybe it's a good idea to keep this in the garage next winter

Only reason I am really driving mine is because my sister wrecked her cruze and I'm being nice and letting her drive my Malibu in the mean time while her's get's fixed. But even if she drove stick I would not let her drive it haha. Only a selective few people drive my cars . All it takes is one opps and your mad at the world and trying to find a way to get back at them, slashing their tires, keying their car, I don't wanna get into details .. Totally kidding
