Taking long time for windows to defog
Taking long time for windows to defog
Had a little bit of snow last week which completely covered my roof, hood and windows. I started it up and turned on the heat and cleaned the snow off the windows. It was pretty cold out, 1 degree celsius or about 34 fahrenheit. After I cleaned her off I sat inside waiting for the windows to defog. I was waiting for a few minutes, not sure exactly how long, until the windows were partly defogged which was good enough to drive. Drove home which is about a 25min drive and the whole time driving the windows were defogging very slowly and didn't fully defog until I was about 5min from my house. I just recently bought the car a few months ago and this was the first time it has been fogged up so I haven't had anything else to compare it to yet, besides my old 03 ion which was way faster at defogging.
So just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or has had a similar issue?
By the way my car is an 06 ss/sc with about 40,000km.

Make sure your A/C is on, which should come on when defroster is selected. A/C removes the moisture in the air so you are throwing strickly dry heated air at the window. Also don't throw defroster on till you have a bit of heat. It can make it harder to defog.
Yeah I did turn on the a/c but not right away. Soon as it started I cranked the heat and put the fan on 2 until she heated up a bit, then put the fan on full after cleaning it off.
