i have a friend that has a 2.2 L61. he swited a 2.4 intake manifold and 2.4 throtlle body to his 2.2. his check engine light is on and the car wont go faster than 20 to 30 mph. does any one know why and how to fix it? thanks guys

 

put the 2.2 tb back on it and it will be fine. the 2.4 throttle body cannot be used without a tune

the increased airflow causes the car to think there is a major leak, and throws it into limp mode

 

You shouldn't be doing mods like this without getting tuned. Someone didn't do their research.

trifecta is the only readily available option. you can use ls2edit, but you would have to find someone to tune it.

and the 2.4 mani is fine untuned, the throttle body is not.

 

thanks bro this is great info, how bout hp tuners? i think in our crappy town its the only one the closest? i had to get someone down to tune my ss tc with trifecta.

 

hp tuners doesnt support 2.2's
