Thawing Parking Brake

Anyone had to thaw their e brake before? Came home on a rainy saturday and went to leave last night and e brake was froze. I normally leave it in first but.... Anyway I tried letting it idle for half hour but no luck. No shop to put it in, I have a lil propane torch. As long as I heat just the shoes and try and keep the drum from getting hot nothing should warp right?

Evenly heating the brakes won't hurt anything, you'd have to really create a hot spot to warp something. Just try to keep the heat away from the wheel cyl and lines/hoses, as they shouldn't get torched.

Try whacking it with a hammer? It's possible it's just sticky, not actually surrounded with ice.

Mine froze up on Monday night. But it was the cable that froze. Heating up the brakes won't help if the cable is frozen.
