Those with 3" exhaust

Anyone with a full 3" had problems with a metal grinding sound in mid throttle? Every gear i hear it and its awful. Let me know. Could it be the heat shield because there is alot of room between the exhaust and the shield.

would a gasket leak sound like metal grinding?

Im thinking about taking my 3in. exhaust off and putting on my stock exhaust.

I think its rubbing where it goes up above the rear axle thing. Mine used to rub there with the 3" but you have to put something there or try to bend the pipe a little to angle up more.

Well not im not wanting to take it off becaus eof the grind. Maybe a tune would help me. but i just dont feel the power i once did with my stock exhaust on and I liked the sound of the car alot better.

What does everyone think. GET A TUNE?

Could the possible metal noise be the cat being fried?
