I have a 2006 lsj supercharged typhoon cai,ark cat back, stock besides that on engine...I bought the car in September and only drove it for a month before the snow came and I had to park it..the problem is when on the highway I could only get about 205 kph .Why so slow ? It gets there quick but won't go faster. My buddy's gos 235 kph. With only cai ...any suggestions?

there are so many variables that could affect your top speed. the incline of the road, the direction and speed of the wind, the air temperature, whether or not you ic pump is working.. why do you care if your car only does 130?

People who don't try to max out their car on public roads, maybe you should invest in a prius before you end your life and possibly someone else. When other would you get to go top speed? Don't say a track, there's hardly enough room to max out our cobalts on most tracks

Idk why u guys have such an issue with a guy checking his top speed. Obviously there is something wrong if he can't get past 205, Id want my car working properly. And the speedo isn't that inaccurate that it be out by like 20 kph either, it's not inaccurate though it's just a little slow, it will tell the correct speed if u stay there a few seconds. If u got a nice long stretch of road free of traffic and u wanna risk it, big fricken deal, he isn't an idiot for it. That's like telling a guy who goes to the track and traps 120 mph he is an idiot. If ur never gonna take a little risk and go fast in a sports car then why do u guys own one. Go get a base civic. Don't feel bad op I topped out mine at 260 few years back so Il a bigger idiot

So I guess y'all think 75% of the 1320 videos are stupid, since most of them are filmed on public highways... Some people just like to push the limit, no different doing 160+ in a cobalt ss than in any other car, just know the risks and consequences of your actions.

 

Smooth road middle of nowhere that you can see for miles and you know it's clear.

You know your tires are in good condition, you know your brake system is performing well.

You have driven up and down a road to confirm conditions. I see no reason anyone hasn't done a speed run on their car. Just once..... No need to go that fast on a regular basis.
All the fun to be bad is 50-100.
Any faster the car starts to get that floaty unstable feeling as it was never designed for those speeds and frankly speed is only fun when you feel 100% in control. Cobalts do not provide that experience. Torque steer is annoying at 25mph you should try it at 130+ When slight imperfections In the road feel like they will throw you in the dktch. Just a thought...

Though my money is on a bad IC pump and the computer cutting timing and boost because the IAT2 is through the roof lol.

I set IAT2 to a 160 degree limit. It cuts timing and boost at those temps. You know something is wrong instantly that way.

Yeah i mean of course its never a smart idea to street race let alone top out a car with a high top speed.. that said i bet over half of the people of this site have tried to top it out atleast once. I hit close to 160 before pussing out, there was more in it. something is wrong with your car op.
