!Towing Help!

Hey Im trying to dinghy tow (tow with all four wheels on the ground), my 09 ss turbo. Problem is I need a base plate to mount my tow bar to. I cant find anyone that makes a baseplate that fits the any of the ss cobalts. Probably because of the low profile of the bumper and the intercooler. Anyway I still want to make it happen. So does anyone know where I can get an easy to install baseplate or know of someone who can custom fabricate one with instructions on how and where to install it? Any help would be awesome.

I would go with the front wheel dolly and save the wear and tear on rotating parts and less hassel.

Tried It

Well Im also trying to save some money. The tow dolly's are expensive and car haulers are even more expensive. Its hard to find a tow dolly to fit the ss because of the front lip being too low. I have tried it on a few different rental dollies and no one has one that will fit the ss models

Would it be possible for you to temporarily remove the front lip? It should be held in with clips.

On my car the bottom of the intercooler is basically flush with the bottom lip of the bumper extension. I guess if the bumper was off thou, the intercooler would be easy to take off as well.

I wasn't saying to remove the lip.....I was saying the intercooler sits flush with the bottom lip so it has to come off too.

Wont work

Hey the two wheel dolly thing wont work anyway. After consulting my cobalt owners manual it says that 2 wheel dolly towing is bad and should not be done with these cars. However dinghy towing is ok. Problem is all the places that make the base plates say no turbo or ss. So dolly is out. Car hauler is too expensive. And no one sells a base plate. I guess I can contact the dealer to see if they can make one or something.
