Tranny clunk and shifter binding
Tranny clunk and shifter binding
Hello everyone. A month ago I purchased an 09 SS with 39,XXX miles on it and unfortunately I'm already having an issue with it. It actually started the day that I bought the car, but I've read about these cars having sloppy/clunky transmissions, so I didn't think much of it. Whenever On occasion when I'm starting in neutral, with the clutch pedal fully depressed, I get a slight, faint clunk when putting the car into first. I also sometimes hear the sound whenever I put my foot back on the gas while the car is in gear and moving. Another thing is that whenever the car is going up a hill, or under a semi hard pull, the shifter seems like it's binding, but then springs into the next gear. I'm fairly certain that the first problem is the clutch, and I'm wondering if the second could be a bad motor or tranny mount thats causing it to bind up the way it is. Has anyone else had a problem similar to this? I bought the car as a "certified" pre-owned from a Chevy dealership, so if it happened to be the clutch, would they warranty it? Thanks.
