Tranny problem?

First off, this is not flr me/my cAr. Its a guy i work with. Keep in mind this is a guy thag asked me why my car is so loud if i got holes i my muffler. No, tis maganflow

Anyways, he says to me. He took his tranny cap off ( next to mptor on top ) and sticks his fingers in and couldnt feel Any tranny fluid. So he added like 5 qrts he says till it was full. Hes done this several times.
I told him thats a nono, but. Is there a vent or something this fluid is goig to? He hasnt seen any puddles. He took me for a ride, and there is a nice whine/grind. Sounds like wheel bearings IMO and i told him that. Also it feels like a truck in overdrive when ue lets go of the gas. Wierd

Its a 06 l61 woth 140k kms AUTOMATIC

I am going to suggest a fluid and filter swap and help him so he doesnt destroy the cAr

Possble damage tk tranny from being way overfilled?

Seriouzly?
There is a bolt ( or a plug ) to check for fluid level on the tranny under the car, fluid is suppose to trickel out. Indicatimg its full. The cap on top is way way above that bolt. You do mean the cap under that huge cluster of wires and coolant lines right? Thags where you fill it, ad thats where he put his fingers in and didnt feel fluid so he filled it to that point

I stand corected if wrong but that makes no sense. Ill check mine tomorrow

You definitely should not be filling it to the top! It was BEYOND overfilled.

That is ONLY the fill hole. There is a check valve on the passenger side of the trans.

You have the car level and with it running open the hole and it will leak all the fluid out till it is at proper level. If it doesnt leak any then add through the fill hole till it starts leaking. When it stops then its full. Close both holes.

He might of screwed his trans. Have him do the procedure, he might be able to save it.

I didnt ask how long hes been doing this, i already told him not to do it again snd ill do some research for him. I do know hes owned it for just over a year.

Im also assuming that the over drive feeling is way tol much fluid that cant circulate properly. And the whine is both hi front wheel bearings. My assumtion after a 5 min drive

But what will happen to that poor tranny bejng over filled like that? Ive never herd nor have ANY exprrience with anything like this

E/ im ghnna show him that picture lol

Im not sure what happens when its overfilled but I do know that fluid level is important. A little low is ok but overfilling is not.

The way he is thinking he might as well fill his oil all the way to to fill cap also
