Transmisson or Clutch problem PLEASE HELP
This is the second time this happen and now i think its worse. I can start the car but then it won't go in any gear, but if i turn the car of it will go in gear. If i start the car in gear it slams and throws me foward but wont start. Last time it happen it was like 2 weeks after i got my stage 2, i had to start the car in gear and it would slam then start up and drove it since than b/c i didn't have the money to fix it. Could it be the clutch that it couldn't handle the stage 2? By the way the clutch is a stage 2 (not 2+) Spec with a findanza flywheel.
All your help is much apprecaited. Im driving one of my beater cavalier's bc i dont want to chance the car with my pregnant gf.
Thanks

What would cause the slave cylinder to go? I put it in gear and the car does not want to start whatsoever and I have to hold the brake bc it wants to throw my forward. It will only start in neutral. I have the car stranded in the driveway...........Anybody else??? I appreciate your help!
sounds like the clutch isn't releasing... if it starts in nuetral and won't go into gear, and when you try to start in gear it jumps forward... you have any fluid on the ground? how does the clutch pedal feel... gotta give me a little more info to try and see whats wrong
No fluid......at times while driving and getting on it a little i lose clutch pressure or feel momentarily, mintue later is goes back to normal. Like the clutch pedal would go almost to the floor w/o engaging the clutch ( i would have to mash it to the floor when this happens to switch gears). Does that help at all?
yeah... more than likely sounds like a defective slave cylinder, or when they installed your clutch they didn't bleed the system the correct way and all the air bubbles made there way into it...
try bleeding it a few times, the procedure is posted up on here somewhere search under
Clutch bleeding procedure.
it's a bit of a PITA but its better then paying to have a mechanic look at it

good luck man def keep me posted on what the problem was.
I do most of the repairs on the locals cobalts and done a few tranny's and learned the hard way about bleeding the system... its a bitch, make sure you do it a few times too just to be sure

It just started up fine today and went into gear no problem. But the car dont have the power it did the 1st couple of weeks i had my stage 2. I know i couldnt possibly got used to the power. Do you think the stage 2 clutch couldnt handle the gmp stage 2?
nah man that ain't the problem... I"m runnin every bolt on under the sun.. put down over 290 whp and I'm still on the STOCK clutch with no slippage or any other problems... I hear a lot of people getting clutches installed and improper bleeding. you get an air bubble in the slave cylinder and no more clutch (after time of course) but then it could always break up and move into the rest of the system, which sounds like your car.
