So im about to pick up a stock shifter to put in my car to get it back to stock so i can take it in and see if the stealership will fix my tranny (1st and 2nd gone) and if they figure out that something is funny about the whole deal and decide to not cover it, what are my chances of caliming it on my ins and they totaling it?

**Back ground; i put in an afftermarket sts and i dono if i put it in wrong or what but it worked fine for a couple months and then all the sudden 2nd gear took a **** and acted like it was missing teeth on the gear and shortly 1st did the same so i parked it and am now hunting for a cheap stock shifter and housing.**

 

id rely on the dealership more than the insurance company because of the fact your insurance might go up....

find someone with a back hoe dig a really big hole push the car in the hole cover it with dirt and maybe some leaves and report it stolen

i didnt know ins. companies cover you breaking your tranny. also with/ without aftermarket shifter, be prepared for the dealer to say you abused the tranny

Please read the whole post before posting, "i am looking to get a stock shifter & **** so it will be stock when i take it in for the warantee work." Im a little smarter than to take a broken car in wiht a fked up aftermaket shifter still on it.

Im considering it, ide have to find some one willing to drive it into the boonies some where while only using 3/4/5 gears (and fist if u can get it to catch) .....
