TSB Request :)
Would really appreciate it if anyone out there that has access to the TSB database could pull one up - NHTSA#'s are 10020916 and 10016549, aka PIC3385 and 3385A.
Car is blowing the park lamp fuse, and I can smell it in the trunk so I figure the problem is in the back somewhere.
I have pulled all the lining out of the trunk and cannot find anything that looks rubbed through or burnt, damn I hate trouble shooting electrical
No tail's is not a big issue at this time of year but come fall, I am always driving in the dark so I kind of need them
Thanks in advance for any help any of you can offer

Just a heads up for future reference ..... this is a PI (preliminary Information ) and not a TSB . It's more like something they are looking at that could become a TSB but most times do not . It will help when your searching in the future.
Subject: Repeated Park LPS Fuse Open (additional information)
Models: 2005-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt
2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu/Maxx
2008 Chevrolet Malibu (Classic)
2008 - 2009 Chevrolet Malibu (new body style)
2007-2009 Pontiac G5
2005-2009 Pontiac G6
2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canada Only)
2007-2009 Saturn Aura

This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIC3385D.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Park Light fuse is open
Recommendation/Instructions:
short to ground (STG) in Circuit 8 (output dimmer circuit) can cause the Park Light fuse to blow.
The circuit #9 (brown/park lamps fuse) wire goes to the BCM and is converted to Pulse Width modulation for the output on the illumination circuits (#8 grey wire). It is recommended that you check for a short to ground on the #8 (grey) circuits in the doors, around center console, and around/or near the drivers front seat track. The BCM doesn't circuit protect the illumination circuit (# and will cause the park light fuse to blow if shorted.
Notie: On the Chevrolet Cobalt SS, check for a short to ground on the left side upper dash pad, as the wiring headed to the boost gauge may be pinched.
Important: DO NOT replace the BCM for the park lamp fuse blowing as it WILL NOT repair the vehicle.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
