Here's a breakdown.

The car runs and drives like normal.

The security light flashes and nothing else shows.

Sometimes it doesn't want to start. The battery is good. I had it charging to make sure it had juice. Even jumping it. I smacked the starter to see if that's the issue. Nope. Starter is fine.

I tried the relearn and it doesn't do it. The security light only blinks like 2-3 times and goes away.

I disabled vats with hptuners. Car still doesn't want to start.

I let the car sit for a few minutes. When I went to check it out. I put the key in and every light popped up like normal pre ignition. Cranked it over and bam runs.

Now I noticed that when it doesn't want to do anything the security light is the only thing that flashes. It does not stay solid.

I checked all the fuses. I did a battery reset and nothing.

I have not gotten the recall done yet.

Has anybody experienced any issues like these?

The car starts when ever it feels like it. I know when its gonna start. When all the lights turn on -_-

Try a different key. Check all the connections for the ignition module. It sounds like the Passlock system is having issues communicating with your key.

Key fob unlock doesn't work. Only lock and panic.

Only got 1 key.

Even if I left the car unlocked , security light may flash after some time.

Once I get car running, I can restart a crap load of times without issues.

Lock/unlock on the fob is probably a dead carbon contact point. Open it up and touch that button with a paperclip. If it works order a new case off eBay, worked for me.

The ignition/vats doesn't care if the car was locked by the remote or not, it'll still start.

They're all the same inside. My original, factory new remotes both have the remote start board. Identical because I have a remote start fob too.

Patent with internal pictures of both:

I opened my remote and cleaned the connections with a qtip, then placed small pieces of aluminum foil over the buttons. It worked perfectly.

Also, if you get the recall done on it, they give you two new keys.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition switch, free of charge. The recall began on March 10, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for the initial recall is 13454 and 14063 for the expansion.
