Viper Security Installation

Need a little help before installing my viper security system... I've been doing research for several days now and most of the information I found was for 05-07 cobalts, not for 08-10. Here are a few questions I have. In advance, I appreciate anyones help. I just can't seem to find the info on my own. I recently purchased the Viper 3305v to install in my car and am under the impression that I need a module for it to work properly. I purchased the DLPKGM module because that's what was recommended on another forum but when I recieved it, the guide says it's only compatible with the 05 and 06 cobalts. Is this true? And if so, what's the difference?

THE MODULE REQUIRED FOR OUR CARS DOESNT WORK. lol sorry for the caps but my installer had a hell of a time getting mine to work. You need what i think they call a universal module or something for it to work. Let me know how you made out, I can pull out my receipts and see exactly what he used.

I had it installed at a local shop and they didn't use a module. I don't have remote start, auto Window, or my vocal siren. I'm fairly dissapointed...

Yeah well to make you feel better, i purchased my viper, bought the module that is supposed to work with our cars, got it installed in about 3 hours and only had door locks. I then had to come back so my installer could figure out wtf was the problem and he spent almost a day switching wires and talking to viper techs and still nothing. He finally ended up talking to someone who had this problem and I took the risk on spending another $150 for the unknown module and it worked like a charm lol. I got lucky tho, my installer only charged me for 6 hours work which was in turn about 12.

6 hours is a rip off. It's not your fault they don't know what they're doing.

Well the module for cobalts doesn't work because it's a manual transmission. This guy did one other cobalt and gave up on it because of this. Even viper techs don't know this, he had to figure it out himself

I don't think it was 6 hours I was just exaggerating a little bit because I had to bring my car to his shop a few times
