WARNING: Possible water problems in trunk!

I went to take out the jack from my trunk today and noticed one of my screwdrivers rolled in the tinny area under the subwoofer on the driver side of the trunk.

To my surprise, that area (it is like a narrow deep canal under the woofer) was FILLED with about 2 inches of water!

Granted i washed my car today, but that was about 3 hours earlier and I drove the car for about 10 miles after the car wash.

Please lift up the carpet in your trunk and check for water. I have a feeling this might be a problem.

I've had this same problem before, I have no idea where it comes from!!

I drilled 1/8" hole at the lowest point in the trunk, and problem solved!

Did you drill the hole from underneath your car? I don’t think you can fit a drill in there w/o removing the woofer

If this is a common problem, this is a serious issue especially in the areas with snow and salt.

water problem fix

took out my sub today and found what could be the problem you people are finding. The drain hose for the rear of the sunroof runs behind the sub and out a rubber plug. Mine was actually pinched from when they bolted the sub in and i would imagine yours are doing the same thing....replace mine and moved it out of the way...Hopefully this helps.

I have found water on the passenger side before... that was back in July though. I had dropped a bullet down there... sucked ass pulling it out of that water. I told the dealership, but I don't think they did anything. I'll check it out tomorrow, see if there is any there.

Oh, I forgot to update this.
They did find a problem. The rear window on the driver side was not sealed properly form the factory. They re-sealed it and fixed the leak
