Trunk leaks

Help, my speaker box sounded like crap so I open my trunk and it's soaked, there's 2-3 inches of water around my battery and spare tire. It seems to be leaking from the wing, going down the key hole, and into my floor. I actually had mold on my carpeting. Anyone else have problems and what do I do now??

I have an after market system and I think it's blown, that's what got me to open my trunk in the first place. I'm sure they'll say it's my fault and won't replace anything, warranty voided or something. I'm so pissed!

Have you ever known a company to willingly fix anything? I'm just wonderin if they'll replace my amp, it's fried, which would explain the crummy sound I've been gettin!

Did you modify the wing or spoiler?

If the trunk area is still "stock" (meaning you didn't modify the spoiler/wing) you *might* be able to make a claim against your comprehensive insurance. Ask your insurance company.

You should make your comprehensive deductable as low as you can get away with...$50, $100...its usually very inexpensive, unlike collision. If it is $500, it is way too high....

Is it possible water is coming up through the battery vent hole area?

So far I haven't had this problem, but it seems to me like the trunk lid isn't sealed very tight.
Well, that's what I've noticed on mine anyway.

I had the same problem.. Apparenlty this is a known issue, and that they will fix it under warranty..

It looks like a little hot tub back there right.. i had up to 1 1/2 inches of water at one point.. i have yet to get GM to fix it, but i did take in and and they wanted to make an appointment with that they call a "leak specialist"... Oldsskool says it is just the wash kid between smoke breaks... hahahahah

I am planning on taking it in this week while i am on vacation..

Hey all, thanks for the feedback, my leak was from the sunroof drain, it is a tube that runs thru the trunk sides and out the bottom, it's not made of one piece and it was disconnected. GM says it's my fault cause of my aftermarket system, of course!!
