Unhappy Washed out rings?

I have a 2007 SC/SS with a GM stage 2 kit that has 87,000 miles on it. The battery has been going bad so we had to jump it the other day. It was running great and then my buddy dumped the clutch and killed it. When we jumped it again and it acted like it flooded and we could smell fuel. It hasn't started since. A compression test showed no compression on any of the cylinders. Has anybody ever experienced anything like this before?

Um, no way in hell you have no pressue on all cylinders from anything you just described.

What was your pocess for testing compression?

It gets even weirder. I put some 140 weight GL 4 in the cylinders to see if it would change the readings but it didn't. I double checked my Guage on a lawnmower and the guage is working. Today when I looked down the cylinders the GL 4 had drained out .

Chain still in one piece? (So are your cams rotating on start-up? You can do a quick check through the intake cam coverplate)

I can see the cam turning through the oil fill cap hole. The only dtc was a p0096 but I think it could have been because of low voltage. So no crank or cam sensor codes.

So did you put a brand new battery in it and try?

Yes, we put a new battery in it right after it failed to start after he stalled it.

I pulled the valve cover, looks like it jumped timing. It was only by a couple teeth so I'm hoping the valves aren't bent.

With zero compression I'm going to say it must have jumped enough to to bend the valves.

How would dumping the clutch and killing it cause the chain to skip and bend valves?

You're correct. The first thing i found was chunks of timing chain guide. Then I found rocker arms knocked off and laying between the plug holes. The studs they sat on are broken off. Turns out there is a tsb on faulty timing chain guides located here: **********************************/forum/f71/secret-tsb-timing-chain-3369/

Wish gm would have informed me of it.

It's just a coincidence. If the chain was that loose it could have happened at any time.

If cars jumped time by dumping the clutch we would have a lot of screwed engines.

Dude is probably right about the chain being old and stretched.
