Water getting into my car

hey everyone,
its been raining alot the past couple of days in new york. i got into my car yesterday morning to find a puddle of water on the passenger side floor. i begin getting angry at myself for leaving a window open or the door not closed. turns out this was not the case, the window was closed all the way and the door was as well. i took the door panel off and hosed down my car. turns out that the window is letting water in. the water seems to get in where the window ends, side mirror side. i can see the water trickle in behind the speaker and then pours into the car when the door is closed.

i have a 2006 cobalt LS coupe. does anyone else have this problem too? and how did you go about fixing it?

thankss

possibly new weather strippign or whatever that **** is called but id also take the panel off and see if theres anything that loos wierd. the door panel will always leak water but it has 3-4 holes on the bottom of thr door to let the water out so it doesnt get inside the car. theres also a plastic seal bullshit that you may need to reseal

I would think there should be a seal around the speaker, did you upgrade the door speakers?

If you have a sun roof the drain is probably clogged

Water will always be getting in by the window, thats why the holes are in the bottom of the door skin.
Your new speakers may stick into the door further and channeling the water to the inside, might have to make some type deflector for the back of the speakers so that the water makes it to the bottom of the door and goes out the holes.
But it could be the seal on the glass is not good enough and now you get enough water that you notice it.
Try running the window all the way down and cleaning it and look for damage!

true, but the only thing is that the speaker upgrade happened months ago.. no new modifications have happened to the car in a while, (aside from adding some stickers lulz) but why would i notice water getting in starting now, where the speakers have been installed for a while. this isnt the first time it rained

Are you sure it coming in through the door? Can you see it dripping from tha speaker when the door is closed and the hose on it?
How about the rubber boot the door wires go through on the A- pillar hows it look.
Theres also a patch on the A-pillar covering a hole behind the fender.
