water from muffler
water from muffler
So i've been driving my car to put miles on it since my rebuild and have noticed that water drips from the muffler. The car does not smoke while driving or any sitting at idle, and there is no fluid does not leak from the exhaust. I was told that it could be coming from the weep hole in the muffler or the muffler just has a leak in it somewhere
when i had my car on a lift doing the coilovers i watched it come from the muffler, i'm hoping there is not anything else wrong with this car now i would be pissed
i haven't noticed any drivability issues and i only throw a code for my o2 sensor which i am going to replace

This is normal for all vehicles. High humidity causes water to enter the engine which gets turned into steam that is released into the exhaust and then turns back into water and coats the inside of the exhaust. After it gathers is will collect and eventually drip out. I see this in many cars in front of me all the time and all three of my vehicles as well.
Now if it's a water hose effect then yea you have an issue
but drops or even trickles are normal.

It's condensation, nothing to worry about. It will be worse when it's cold out and when the motor / exhaust is not warmed up.
There should always be a weep hole at the lowest point of the muffler, otherwise water could sit and rot it out from the inside. This is a real issue with cars that don't get driven long enough to warm up everything and evaporate any collected mosture out of the exhaust system.

Im sorry i just found it funny to see someone ask this question when you see cars almost every morning when driving around that do this.
But again i apologize, please carry on with your thread.
