Weak hvac blower

Hey guys. My HVAC blower seems pretty weak. If I have it set at the highest setting and only to blow through the top vents I feel like very little air is being moved compared to just about every other car I've been in. Is this normal for Cobalts or something I should consider bringing up to my dealer while I still have plenty of warranty time left?

Mine blows like a son of a bitch if it's set to only come out of the top vents. Now if I have it set to top and bottom, it feels weaker.

Does the motor actually change speeds when going from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4? If it only runs at the speed that normally is 1 then your blower motor may have blown the resistor or something. I had something similar happen in my car but where the blower would only run on 4. Dealer fixed it under warranty.

I fall the speeds are slower then you probably need to change your cabin filter

Hmm, okay, I'll have to check when I get in my car after work today. I think it does change speeds, but I'll confirm, thanks!

The filter is original but I only got the car in September of 2009. How often do they need to be replaced?

I would say once a year. I never changed mine in my 05 till 5 months ago when I noticed the air was barely coming out. Removed the cabin filter and it had leaves and a bunch of dirt in it. The air started blowing strong again. I also rarely used my air cause my work schedule allowed me to drive when it was cooler out so I kept my windows down.

Okay, so I checked to make sure I do get all 4 air speeds and I do. So I will definitely check the air filter this weekend and see if that does the trick. Thanks!
