Hey guys...

Today, I walked out to my car. I popped the trunk, and flipped it up all the way. After I did that, it sounded like something rolled around in my trunk lid. I was like...umm. I thought it could've strangely been a light bulb that came out or something. A third brake light. But no. I shook the trunk up and down a bit and figured out it was inside the spoiler. WTF? It eventually must've gotten caught on something and it stopped.

Anyone else have this? 2006 SS n/a coupe with standard coupe spoiler.

 

Ya know i have heard somethin on mine but it sounds almost like water but i dont think it is.

 

Ill be checking mine out 4 sure..

Mine doesn't sound like water. It sounds like something plastic?? lol.

 

Strange, maybe it's a loose piece from installation, like when they drilled for the installation a piece got stuck up inside. That's just weird though. The only sound mine makes is that springy sound if someone closes the trunk too hard.

 

Nope, mine's completely solid except for this plastic sounding thing. lol.

the spoiler is suppose to flex. ever ride in a airplane and watch the wing? looks like its gonna snap off lol.

 

Every time I wash my car I always peek under the spoiler to make there aren't any wasps nests under it in the little groove before I sponge it, you never know, could be one inside haha

a guy at work told me he had somethign makeing noise in his door, when he disassembled his door, he found a note "So you found me" written in japanese since he had a japanese car... I wonder uf the guys at Chevy ever did something similar.

Mine does the exact same thing. No clue what it is possibly snapped off bolt from under the spoiler?

 

A properly designed spoiler is not supposed to flex. When they wobble they stall. The aero wings wobble cause they're junk.

 

I bet there's a screw or a piece of plastic or a nut or something that fell off and is rolling around the inside of your hollow trunklid. Good luck getting it out. Took me about 4 months.

 

Seems like a good excuse for a CF trunk....

airplane wings, are also airplane wings... not car spoilers. One is designed to produce lift and pressure from a single attachment point, and the other provides downforce from two fixed attachment points. VERY different.

 

you need to do more research. there not very different at all. stop getting info from google. aerodynamics is aerodynamics. you really think the front spoilers and rear on f1 cars dont flex. haha too funny

 

spoilers are deseigned to have flex. it dont matter how much you think physics is wrong. its just how it is buddy

 

I doubt the spoilers on our cars are for anything more then just looks anyway.

i never even noticed hahahaaa. as far as i know the high-rise spoiler is functional and does provide a little bit of downforce. ive researched it over and over. but i def didnt notcie this was from 05... god damn

lmao ok buddy, im not sure where I talked about F1 cars splitters, air dams, diffusers or spoilers, but you OBVIOUSLY are superior in your vast knowledge of aerodynamics, to the point you can't differentiate an airplane wing designed for LIFT with the rear wing on a car designed to produce DOWNFORCE.

Comparing the two speaks VOLUMES about your competency in the field of aerodynamics.
