Werid Noise at high rpms

I'm having a weird noise like scratching when I go WOT in 2nd at about 5500-6000 rpm it makes a horrible sound like something scraping or scratching and you can feel the vibration in the gas pedal. I've changed the plugs, cleaned the air filter and the MAF. Not sure what would cause this. Cat converter light came on a few days ago. Not sure if that would cause it though

I apologize for this frustrating situation. Have you considered taking this into the dealership, and have them look into this? I would be happy to assist you with this process. Send me a PM with your VIN, current mileage, contact info and a preferred dealership. Thanks!

what cat conv light? the CEL is the only light on the dash so I am assuming you pulled a code.

Don't assume the check engine light(CEL) is for the cat only. Go to Autozone or what ever is closest and pull some codes. Or look on here on how to get the codes from the digital dash display.

P0420 code came on. I cleared it for now. Just don't like that noise. Don't think its good at all. Just replaced the plugs, and o2 sensor.

I agree with that or part of the timing chain guide has broken off.
