Wheel studs breaking...
So i got these aftermarket rims and ive had them on for 2 summers so far...last summer two of the studs broke while i was driving one on each side...i went to go rotate them yesterday and as i torqued down the last bolt it broke the stud off right in it. im only torqueing to 75 lbs anyone know if its to much torque or just shitty studs?

Aluminum Rims ,I torque to 100 ft/Ibs.
Stud breakage is due to a problem of some sort.
1)Do you have the proper lugnuts- Aluminum rims require a different lugnut
2)The shop where you had the rims put on way over torqued the nut using a gun instead of a torque stick and streched the studs.
3)The bolt patteren isnt right and there is pressure on the studs.
4)Your lugnuts if the rims are aluminium need to be retorqued after driving for a while after installation
because they will be a under torqued if you dont.
5)The guy on the assembly line torqued them to high due to the machine not being calibrated properly
or something was wrong with it.

The studs are made of a crappy metal. It is not uncommon for them to snap... and the LS with the 4 lug hubs seem to have more problems with broken studs. I've busted mine before while just taking off a tire with a wrench.
