Where to go from here?

Last night while driving home my car developed a very bad knock. Does it all through out the rpms wether on the gas or not. Not sure exactly what it is, but I'm almost positive it's not the tensioner. Considering it was replaced 15k miles ago along with new timing set.

Car has 130k. Oil level is good. Drove fine up until last night. Any ideas on what to do next? Thinking either new car or new engine... I'll get a video up of it later when I'm home from work.

What's the best way to go about replacing/rebuilding these engines.. Looks like mines shot

edit: shavings in oil. :-(

Here's what I would do:

1. Drain the oil and remove the oil filter, look for metal shavings.

2. Remove the belt and start the motor, see if knock remains.

3. Get a mechanic's stethoscope and find out where the noise is coming from.

Good luck.

We pull though the front and do everything together. A/C is something that we can recharge for cheap/free though.

Look into the b207r swap if you just want a new stock motor or get a built bottom end if you wanna make some more power rebuilding it.

Crate motor is 4k. I'd contact ZZP and see what they can do for you.
