remove / replace bypass valve actuator

i have done what I think is fair amount of searching and I havent found what I need to know. I believe my bypass valve actuator ( canister on sc'r ) is sticking open. how do I remove it and either replace it or try to wd-40 it to unstick it ? i see a post on zzp regarding the bypass mod but that doesnt really what I want to do .

I believe there are 2 bolts that hold it on the supercharger and then the rod just loops through a hole

You have to remove the SC to get it off because of how you need to twist the rod to get it out, but its very simple. I suggest marking the location of original one so on reinstall you can line it up properly. Basically want to to just touch the arm with no play.

i was able to remove it without removing sc'r .. hopefully not got messed up. the rod has spring to it, and the orange "gasket" inside appears to be un damaged...

So I was able to remove it , cleaned it and reinstall. Boost still won't go past 7-8psi. Is it possible for testing purposes remove this actuator so the valve never opens to release pressure to verify its the valve and not supercharger and see if if it will build boost past 10lbs?

Yes. But you don't have to remove it for that. You do what's called the boost by pass mod and zip tie the valve closed.

Another test is eliminate the computers ability to control boost by disconnecting the by pass solenoid

Is it safe to run with it bypassed like that ? I did what u actually mentioned and boost will now hit 13-15ish via the stock gauge . I won't run it like this permanently but for s week or so I will need to until I can get a new bypass actuator. Side note now at idle it has a idle supercharger whine like a cobra lol . And thanks again

Car will always be in positive boost and fuel mileage will suffer. But limited time you'll be OK. Just keep in mind if iats get hot or the boost needs to be pulled for safety reason, the computer has now lost its ability to control boost.
