Will GM Wash this off

Well it finally happened to me. Went to add my washer fluid today and popped the hood, mind you it has been sitting for two weeks and boom, Popped oil dipstick, stock car. Going to the dealership tomorrow and bitching to get it fixed and the under hood cleaned.

Rick, not sure where the TSB is for that, but if you don't end up finding it, just call up the dealer and tell them there is a tsb for it and the fix is to replace the intake manifold gasket with a newer design.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ight=dip+stick I think thats what your looking for. Also i'd try to get a free oil change since you lost so much oil. Atleast a free quart.

you need a new intake gasket. if your dealer is nice they'll wash it off. i'd also request them to get it all off as well just to make sure

Also Rick, theres a self service car wash in moon with an engine degreaser that washed about 2 quarts of oil out of Wes' engine bay when it blew a head gasket. Thats if you want it clean before the dealer can get to it.

Thanks for finding that guys. I was gonna print it and take it in, but if it says "Under Hard acceleration" they might claim abuse

I must have lost about 3-4 qts, mine did this three times. The first time was a huge mess, your's doesn't look too bad at all.

If for some reason they give you ****, it is a cheap and easy fix yourself. Although its a brand new car so they shouldn't at all.

So my service manager is awesome. He knows that this happens at WOT, and he was like "run good?". anyway he ordered the gasket and it will be put on when it comes in. They washed it but the oil stained the clearcoat on my painted parts. ANy ideas how to get that out??

honestly, to my knowledge, a lot of dealerships are cool. ive run into 2 out of 3 dealerships that just do what i want, no questions asked. i am stock, though, so maybe that is their key words to GM on whether or not to warranty certain things
