Windo tinting problem?

hey guys, im on my second cobalt (06) couldnt get away from it, but anyway this is the second car ive had tints put on however this time i had a strip put on the windsheild as well. im concerned about the dots on both the back window and the front window around the mirror. The tints for some reason are not fully sticking i guess this time, so it basically looks like sh*t, the tints have no flaws with bubbles or anything like that, there are just lighter spots that look like they have not been pushed down upon. I have worked really hard to try to get them down, took a credit card wrapped in a towel and applied a lot of pressure. no luck. anyone have any quick fixes? maybe heating up the glue and pressing on it?? im not sure, i really just want it to look better than it does now.
thanks

What did your tint shop tell you about this??? Do you have any pics? How long have you had the tint on? Did you go back to the tint shop to talk to them about it?

The dots are ceramic adhered to the glass, they actually hold the film off the glass slightly allowing air to get trapped under them, most of the time a good tint shop will explain what to expect with this and how they deal with it. The dots on the rear glass can be made to stick no problem, but it requires some technique from the installer, some tint shops will either glue them or put vinyl over them, i personally don't do either, i have a tecnique that works really well to get them to stick... SOMETIMES, not always you can go back to the tint shop and they can rub them out after a week or so and they will look better. As for the front winshield it almost never sticks, but sometimes right after it is done it looks patchy, like its stuck in some areas and not in others, but after a few days it should dry evenly and just looks silverish where the dots are but that usually looks fine...

thanks man, they told me that " it was never going to look perfect" i havnt taken any pictures yet. i will try to get some up today, its been about a week since i got them done and i have been back there already because they had to redo the driverside windo because some fuz got under the tint while they were installying. i told the guy to look at the back window and i guess he just did nothing about it. the front window does look patchy right now, but hopefully that will dry ok. thanks for the advice

If it still looks patchy on the windshield after a week it will probaly not go away. One tip i can give you is, park the car in the sun for a while as to heat up the rear window a bit, then get a bondo card or something a bit more sturdy than a credit card, wrap your card in some thick papertowels, like 2 sheets and rub the window from the bottom of the dots up to the edge of the glass. That may help a bit.

Really??? I guess that would be ok, but i'm surpised they asked you to do it. Just seems like an odd request for a customer to have to deal with it, that's what you pay the tinter for, lol!!!

Got any pics? I've tried a few different glue methods but it's usually messy and the results are inconsistant. I like to just heat the glass a bit to get them to stick works the best so far...

i have had the same problem. just get a strip of vinyl from the place where you got your tint and out it over the bubbles outside. i payed $15 for the strip that i have over my bubbles on the back window. i got it in white cuz thats what my car is, but it looks so so much better. try the vinyl if you don't like you can also just cut the tint right before the bubbles.

I have heard you can sand the matrix down a bit and it will help stick a bit but the tint will look somewhat cloudy until it dries really good.
