Wire (line) by back left wheel well

Does anyone know what the wire is called by the back left wheel well? I have a 2006 SS, it's held to the bottom of the car by a blue clip. This clip fell out of its place and the wire was rubbing on my tire. The rubber coating of this wire was worn off in a section and it exposed what looks like a metal wire. Anyone know what this is? Would I be able to put electric tape on the piece of rubber that rubbed off?

Thank you!

your better off cutting it join it with a insulated butt connecter and cover it with a tube of heat shrink and then tape it. using tape by itself will let water in and after time the wire will rot away.

The wire is probably for your wheel sensor for ABS ,donot cut it.If you do it will have to be soldered and still might cause an issue.
If there isnt any problem yet cover it with silicone for water resistance and tape it up well.

Never thought of that ,but it is more of a cable then a wire.
But yes it would be silver under the coating and they would be spirals about 3/16 wide.

E brake cable for sure. As long as you haven't worn through the spirals (conduit actually) just tape over good to keep the moisture from getting in and corroding stuff.
