WOT>Loss of Power>LOUD BACKFIRE>WTF

Aright, so I've had this happen once before also.

Driving along just fine, decide to do a pull. Could be any gear, any rpm.

So lets just say 2nd gear 40 roll pull, hit about 5krpm.
Lose all power, motor slowely rev's down. Pull over, motor rev'ing down.
Near or at stopping, LOUD BACKFIRE, FLAMES OUT BACK END.
Try to restart, second backfire... Oh ****....Motor done???

Restart again. Drives like normals. WHAT THE ****???

No codes come up. AFR was fine the entire time.

Thanks for any suggestions or help here. Doesn't happen more than once ever two months.

I'm not trying to scare you, but mine had a similar thing happen and it ended up blowing a hole in a piston.

Check your spark plug gap and see what it's at, that was one thing I was told to do.

yes i am an idiot TB not T O B> reading spellcheck fails me. And yes that can happen if the safety clip is gone. Good news its a standard item at any self respecting Chevy dealership as it used lots of places, like coil pack connectors etc...

I'll have to drop by one day. I also was told it could be the MAF Sensor going haywire from water, oil(K&N), or filter cotton touching it.

Just put my ported intake mani on, did like 7 back to back pulls. No issues.

Thanks,
Bratboy90
