WTF. Check Engine Light
So I took the Cobalt to the dealership the other day for my first oil change. My dad said to wait until the percentage thing to to 20% instead of doing it at 3000. Alright. So when I got it back, it was running great with the new oil change. Suddenly, later in the night, when I got back in the car at a store, the CEL came on when I started it. Now, the light comes on every time I turn it on. But the car is running well. The only difference is (as someone else mentioned) the car "shudders". Like it feels like my Monte that's a pushrod engine. You can feel it idle through the pedal. I never could feel that before. What is going on with my car? 6,000 miles and it's already been at the dealership 4 times. 2.4. Stock almost everything. This is uncalled for. I take immaculate care of it, and use 93 BP premium every time. Rediculous.
BTW: If anyone else has a "squeak" in the back of their car, there will be a recall very soon for that. Some bad bushing or something. Just a heads up.

Well I would check your dipstick if I were you.
Same thing happend to my car and it was the dipstick being pulled out that threw the CEL.
I reset the battery, fixed the dip stick and resecured my GAS CAP.
Give that a try.

mine did the same thing. i took it back a few days later and it was my catalyst system and an engine misfire. they reflashed it and said if it turns back on to bring it back. it did so i went back and got my system replaced and no problems so far. so have then run a DTC test. all is free if u still have warrenty

I didn't know you could screw up that new style gas cap. lol. I'll go do that. The dipstick is fine. I tried it 3 seperate times and it read properly. The car has to go back down to replace that suspension piece, so they'll just look at it then if it doesn't stop.
And for engine missfire, what does that entail? The car seems to idle strangely rough when I first turn it on, then it drops under a grand shortly thereafter and basically idles normal. But the idle is never rambunctious. It's always steady...
