my car pulled that couple weeks ago, my car wouldn't start or anything, dealer jus replaced it

yea, it was in the shop for like a day and a half.. faulty camshaft sensor, replaced under warrenty

how did i not see this thread? i have this issue and i got parts today. i dont know when i will throw the "new" actuators in, but when i do ill let you know how it goes

iboost have you checked your wiring harness? one wire could have shorted out.

thats the first thing i did, i checked all the wires and mine are good, but i went to the dismantlers today and got a used actuator for 10 bucks and im gonna try that soon

retorqued the cams back down and checked the wires at the connectors and back looked fine. I'm just going to bolt everythjing back up and check it out...

damn. I've hear those 2 little things being called so many different things. Actuators, Solenoids, Sensors and now Phasers...

Well I got the valve cover back on. Bolted down. Coil packs are in and bolted. Cam sensors are in, look good and reconnected. I'll finish up installing my charge pipes tomorrow and see if she fires up and I can clear the code and keep it gone...

the screens are supposed to be clean on them. also you can do a resistance test to see if it works properly

i just threw p0011 yesterday after my car started to idle goofy. still does it occasionally, never consistent. probably gonna have to replace both intake and exhaust solenoids

changed my oil the other day, hoping it would get rid of CEL... came back ran a litter better. so i ordered the new sensors ( dealership said GM calls then "valves" lol ) yesterday. put in the new sensors today, seems to be running much smoother. no CEL yet. wish me luck ha

Hey iboost, you figure this out yet?

Did you happen to check the timing chain? See if it's loose or jumped a tooth on the intake side??

Also, a weird theory, but if all else fails there could be a good amount of carbon build-up on the back of the valves not letting them close completely... does the car run rough at idle or anywhere else?

Nope still haven't figured it out yet. I'll have to pull the valve cover again, but I didn't feel anything loose or see anything out of the ordinary. I seaformed the car right after I pulled the cover like 10000 miles ago...
